"If I was ever in a movie, I was hoping that I would be portrayed by Denzel Washington, but I guess Rob Lowe is okay," Peterson told his lawyer, Joel Brodsky, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Seems a bit haughty to take issue with being played by a famously attractive movie star. On the other hand, the 47-year-old Lowe does seem an unlikely choice. The trim, handsome actor is certainly not a physical ringer for Peterson, who has gray hair, a grizzled face and a bulky build. After playing high brow political types in West Wing and Brothers and Sisters, he hardly fits the image of a hardened, corrupt cop. In fact, Lowe has been shining lately as the amusingly fastidious health nut on Parks and Recreation, so he doesn't exactly need the work, either.
But actors tend to love these types of challenges. And while Peterson is no Rob Lowe, he must have had a certain charm with the ladies. He did entice four of them to marry him, and the last one apparently didn't question what had happened to those who came before her!
So far there's no air date set for the movie, which is based on the book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson. But Kaley Cuoco (The Big Band Theory) has been cast as Peterson's fourth wife. We wonder what Peterson thinks of that. Maybe he'd prefer Anna Paquin?
