Katy Perry Praises Beyonce In Elle
Katy Perry on the March issue of <i>Elle</i>

Katy Perry not only glams up for the new issue of Elle, but she also gets real. The singer — who is gearing up for a big performance on this Sunday's Grammy Awards — dishes on diva behavior, discusses her personal life and even reveals how much she weighs in the fashion magazine's latest cover story.
"I feel like I'm at a point in my life right now where I could potentially stick around," Perry says about her outlook on being a pop star. "I don't feel like a diva, but I think diva is a great and powerful word in the sense of what Beyoncé makes it. And maybe I can't be Beyoncé, but maybe I can be Cyndi Lauper. I mean be like her, not be her. That would just be weird."
The singer also admits to having some ambitions outside of the entertainment world. "I think some people will die on the stage, and I'm not so sure I want to do that. Like, I want to have kids!" she explains. "I'm totally fine with saying that. I think some people are scared because they're worried it's going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life."
That full life, these days, includes her hubby, Russell Brand, who she says is her perfect better half. "Everything clicked really fast. We kind of instantly got past all the surfacey stuff. And ever since then, there hasn't been a dull moment," she says. "We both needed balance, and we give that to each other. It wasn't about me taming him, which is what everyone always says — it was about timing."
Perry doesn't hold back at all, revealing details about her weight that very few celebrities seem willing to share with the world. "I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I'm generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me," she confesses. "But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145. And I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder ... and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know ... that these things would come in handy someday."

Oscars Auto-Tune 'Twilight,' 'Harry Potter' And 'Social Network'
Taylor Lautner in the "Twilight" clip played during the Oscars' auto-tune montage
Photo: Summit/AMPAS/ABC
Sunday night's Oscar hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway joked early and often about how they were brought in to make the 83rd edition of the movie awards program young and hip. And while their enthusiasm was infectious and their timing spot-on, it was a segment they didn't appear in halfway through the show that dragged the sometimes tired movie/music bits in the show kicking and screaming into the present.
OK, maybe into 2009, but it's a start. "As we all know, this was the year of the movie musical," Franco proudly proclaimed, as Hathaway stood beside him in a glittering silvery gown looking puzzled.
"I'm sorry, did I miss something? I thought there were hardly any musicals this year," she responded. "Guess again, Anne," Franco smirked, setting up one of the night's funniest moments.
What followed was an unexpectedly silly musical tribute that began with the instant classic "Tiny Ball of Light," credited to Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." Taking a pivotal scene in the woods where the longtime pals reunite, Ron and Hermione are drawn into a finger-snapping R&B slow jam with a thumping beat and over-the-top Auto-Tune effects that would make T-Pain proud.
"This ball of light, this tiny ball of light floated through my chest, floated through me right here," Weasley stutter-sings as an incredulous Granger croons, "What exactly did it say, may I ask?" The sure-to-be-viral classic artfully reimagined the dialogue from the film and was right out of the "Saturday Night Live" school of digital-short musical parodies.
That number was followed by another Auto-Tune-ification, this time of Woody and the gang from "Toy Story 3," via the funktastic "We're Still Here." "Through every yard sale, we're still here, through every spring cleaning, we're all still here," Woody sings in his best club-crawling tone.
The capper, though, was courtesy of Mr. SNL Digital Short himself, Justin Timberlake. Taking the pivotal scene in "The Social Network" where Timberlake's Sean Parker lays out his manic vision for Facebook to the site's founders, the dialogue was transformed into a Euro disco banger, opening with his digitally skipped pitch, "Facebook, Facebook, Faa-aaa-aaa-cebook."
The song, "Fishing for Facebook," worked the infamous "14 trout" speech into the kind of slick club come-on that might easily have been a B-side to one of Timberlake's own albums. The piece ended with Timberlake dropping his signature line, "A million dollars isn't cool, you know what's cool?" over a driving beat, then pausing a moment and adding: "a billion dollars."
Just to make sure they snagged the kids, the musical tribute ended with "He Doesn't Own a Shirt," a pretend slow jam from "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," in which a jealous Edward Cullen sneers, "Doesn't he own a shirt," at romantic (and, yes, shirtless and ripped) rival Jacob Black. In the background, a group of female singers explained, "He's too sexy for a shirt" and "She's so glad he doesn't have a shirt" as Bella Swan embraces her werewolf pal.

'Spider-Man' Musical Star Talks Production Delays And Fighting Fear
T.V. Carpio
Photo: Dario Cantatore/ WireImage
"Things are constantly changing. It's a very creative process," T.V. Carpio told MTV News, explaining the seemingly ever-shifting nature of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."
For some observers on the outside looking in, that might come off as spin, an "it's all good" mentality meant to calm the public while inside the musical's playhouse, "Spider-Man" continues to struggle to find its creative footing. But to Carpio, it's all part of the inspirational process of working with Julie Taymor, the visionary behind the "Lion King" musical and films like 2007's "Across the Universe."
"You have to be down to jump, because Julie is always having these crazy visions," said Carpio, who took on the role of the villainess Arachne after the original actress left the production. "She's amazing like that, and you just have to go with it."
Still, there's no doubting that the cast of "Turn Off the Dark" has had a lot to just go with. From multiple delays in the show's official Broadway debut to highly publicized safety issues and injuries, the musical is being buzzed about for all the wrong reasons. Recent reports suggest fresh behind-the-scenes talent is being welcomed into the fold.
Carpio, however, denied reports that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a playwright and comics writer, has been hired to work on script issues. "I haven't heard anything about a writer joining us. Whenever they do change anything, they make an announcement to the cast," she said. "They told us that all the rumors, if we haven't been told about them, aren't true."
The cast has been working closely with musical supervisor Paul Bogaev, one of Taymor's longtime collaborators, to enhance various musical numbers. "There aren't any new songs," Carpio said. "Paul's just working with the songs we already have. Yesterday, he helped write a new part for my monologue in the second act. And we put in a new flight. He's just another set of outside eyes helping sculpt what's already there. But he is the only new one who's actually there and working.
"Although it's new, because he hasn't worked on 'Spider-Man' all along, Julie works with a lot of the same people," she added. "The family we have working on the music -- the choreographers, dancers, actors -- is sort of like the family from 'Across the Universe.' It didn't feel crazy, like, 'Who's this guy?' It was like, 'Oh hey, Paul!' "
Through all the changes, Carpio has kept herself insulated within what she affectionately calls her "'Spider-Man' bubble" and has been readying for the upcoming premiere of "Limitless," a thriller in which she co-stars with Bradley Cooper that hits theaters on March 18. Whatever happens with "Turn Off the Dark" in the future, the actress has managed to keep anxiety at bay -- the original Arachne, Natalie Mendoza, dropped out after suffering a concussion during a high-flying stunt -- and focused on the task at hand: delivering an entertaining Broadway experience.
"To give the kind of performance you want to give, there's no room for fear. There's always adrenaline, but it's not about fear. You just have to trust you can do it," she said. "I don't care about what goes on outside. I can't control what people say; I can only control my performance. That's the only thing I can give."

Justin Bieber's Grammy Performance Will Be 'A Crossover,' Usher Says
Usher
Photo: Amanda Edwards/ Getty Images
HOLLYWOOD — At Sunday's 53rd Grammy Awards, Usher will be pulling double duty as both a nominee and a performer. Of course, given the massive year he just completed — with the success of his smash single "O.M.G." and as a mentor to rising phenom Justin Bieber — Ush's Grammy plans seem rather fitting.
Especially since he'll be performing with Bieber (and Bieber's pal Jaden Smith), a move that's just as much about celebrating Usher's successes as it is the successes of his young protégé.
"Having been through [the Grammys] so many times, you couldn't want for anything more than for your young protégé to have the opportunity to have one, so, in support of him having his moment, I wanted to be here," Usher told MTV News on Thursday, hours before his performance at the (Belvedere) RED launch party in Hollywood. "And also to be there to perform, to kind of tell the story of how we came together. This music business has definitely been good to both of us, and this year we have a lot to be happy for."
And just how will the dynamic duo tell that story? Well, Usher wasn't about to reveal all the details, but he did say that he's hoping their performance will show another side of Bieber ... a side most tend to overlook.
"The performance will be fun," Usher explained. "We want to get up there and just do what we do. Be comfortable, and have a great time. ... This is kind of a crossover for Justin. Having performed on so many different stages, this is the way that I wanted him to be seen and an opportunity to show the industry — a lot of the industry, that didn't believe [in him] — some of his other talents. He's going to play acoustically, and also, we'll get down a little bit."
And though Ush is up for a pair of Grammy awards on Sunday — Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary R&B Album for Raymond v. Raymond — he's most looking forward to sharing the stage with Bieber and giving fans a look at where the young artist will be heading next.
"I'm very proud, man. I definitely saw it from the beginning, but thanks to the team that we have around us, it was made to happen. And that story has only just begun," Usher said. "The story of Justin Bieber doesn't stop with screaming girls; we need screaming fans all around the world ... a cultural experience that's much more than just fanfare. And that's what this is. That's what the Grammys will be; that's what my next phase for Justin is. This is the way I found him: I found him with a guitar in his hand, so I want him to be seen that way."
Don't miss "Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys," a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all Grammy night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond!

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Ordered To Stand Trial
Dr. Conrad Murray
Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images
Dr. Conrad Murray has been ordered to stand trial for manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.
According to The Associated Press, Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor made the decision after a six-day preliminary hearing during which witnesses testified that the Houston cardiologist administered a dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol and other sedatives then left the pop star unmonitored.
During the course of the hearing, testimony was given that Murray ordered hundreds of bottles of propofol in the months before Jackson's death. The AP report also cited the fact that the prosecutors concluded their case with testimony from two doctors who said Murray acted outside the standard of medical care when he administered propofol and failed to provide proper care.
Other damning testimony included that of Jackson's bodyguard, who said that on the morning of the singer's death, it appeared that Murray didn't know how to administer CPR to his dying patient.
Judge Pastor also granted a request by the California Medical Board to suspend Murray's license to practice medicine in the state. Pastor said he made the decision in the interest of public safety and ordered Murray to notify every district in which he practices of the decision within 24 hours. Murray has clinics in Houston and Las Vegas.
Murray, 57, has pleaded not guilty, and his attorneys have argued that he did not give Jackson anything that should have killed him. Murray faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

Lady Gaga Brings Monster Ball Home To New York
Lady Gaga performs at Madison Square Garden on Monday
Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage
NEW YORK — Lady Gaga took her Monster Ball home Monday night, hitting the Madison Square Garden stage for not only the second show of this leg of her tour, but also the first of two tapings for her forthcoming HBO special.
Check out photos from Lady Gaga's New York City show.
After a rousing set from the Scissor Sisters, the arena's lights dimmed and the crowd went crazy as the chugging beat of "Dance in the Dark" played, counting down Mother Monster's entrance.
"New York City, did you guys come to party tonight?" she asked as she appeared. "The Monster Ball will set you free."
In a sheer dress and nun's habit, Gaga performed "Love Game."
"My name is Lady Gaga, and I was born and raised in the unbreakable streets of New York City," she proclaimed. "Thank you so much.
Tonight, I want you to forget all of your insecurities because I didn't used to be brave but you have made me brave, little monsters."
She then kicked it old school with "Boys Boys Boys."
"Are we gonna get divided now if I put this on?" she asked before pulling on a Yankees cap. After a quick chat with a fan, she went right into "Telephone," without an appearance from Beyoncé, despite fan murmurings that Queen B might make an appearance.
Gaga then sat at her piano and slowed things down with "Speechless."
"I come from a long line of Italian men. Freakin' eye makeup fell off," she interjected, peeling off her false eyelashes. "If you think I'm going to go on HBO without fingernails, you're wrong. The men in my family all really like to drink, so I spent my whole life chasing after men who drink as much as them, so cheers to all of you."
She tailored the lyrics to her hometown and the men she knows with shout-outs to baseball games and her former nail salon on Clinton Street. For a moment, the show became more cabaret then dance hall.
"And God bless the New York Fire Department: They told me I couldn't light my piano on fire."
Before hitting the piano again for "You & I," she had a message for the excited, cheering crowd: "This is for you, New York. This is on my new record, Born This Way."
She belted: "There's something about Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island ... you and I."
Later emerging as an angel, Gaga performed "So Happy I Could Die."
"Your outfit is amazing," she shouted to her fans.
Before the crowd-pleaser "Monster," she asked the crowd, "Do you think I'm sexy, 'cause I think you're sexy. ... You were born with a little extra strength. ... I'm up here to empower all of you."
In the midst of performing "Teeth," Gaga laid out on the stage floor and began to feel up a male dancer. "Just in case you ever wonder if I ever lip sync, the answer is no. ... Show me your teeth," she said.
"It's a really good thing this is for HBO."
A saint statue was rolled out onto the stage for "Alejandro." "Put your hands up for equality," Gaga urged. "Love each other."
Given all the excitement, it was easy to forget the whole show is about Gaga trying to get to the Monster Ball. When she finally arrived at the ball, she played "Paparazzi."
"Thank you so much for being brave," she told her fans as firecrackers exploded from her bra. "And when they ask you 'How was Lady Gaga?' you can tell them we burned the place to the f---ing ground. I don't want to be your queen. You were born this way, baby."
After a short intermission, Mother Monster reappeared for an encore, pleasing the room with "Bad Romance." "You'd better not leave when this song is over 'cause there's just one more surprise," she promised. "You're my heart and soul."
She stood fierce and proud, taking in the crowd. "I might do something a little extra special for you, but only if you scream really slutty for me," she proclaimed before exiting the stage as the band played out "Bad Romance."
To the excitement of her fans, Gaga emerged in her Grammy attire to perform "Born This Way." "Where's all my girls?" she asked. As dancers took the stage beside her, she said, "We just want to remind you all tonight, we want you to remember to never give up on your dreams."
She sang part of the song a cappella, then played it full out, reenacting her memorable Grammy performance. The show ended with her and her dancers in an embrace as the curtain came down over them.

Oscar Preview: Can 'King's Speech' Be Dethroned?
Colin Firth in "The King's Speech"
Photo: Weinstein Company
If the 83rd Academy Awards had been held a month ago, shortly after the critics groups had doled out their prizes and the final glasses of champagne had been drained at the Golden Globes, "The Social Network" would almost certainly have nabbed Oscar's Best Picture statue. After all, David Fincher's film about the salacious founding of Facebook hardly encountered a critics group it didn't woo and win over, before going on to earn four Globes, including Best Motion Picture - Drama. What could possibly stand between "Social Network" and the Academy's top honor?
As it turns out, another month. And another biopic, this one telling a story that begins some 80 years ago and resembling a far more traditional Oscar film than Fincher's exploration of youth and digital beauty. "The King's Speech" bounced back from its Globe defeats (it nabbed just one of seven nominations, with Colin Firth taking top dramatic actor) and secured important wins from the Producers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild.
So much for creating a big tent with the inclusion of 10 Best Picture nominees. Like last year, we find ourselves watching a two-horse race that, at this point, might not be all that close. Kudos to "Toy Story 3," "Winter's Bone" and "Inception," but their nominations are kind of the equivalent of pity invites to a kid's birthday party: Sure, the birthday boy was forced to request the pleasure of your company, but he's not going to pretend you're anything more than a seat-filler. Our man Oscar holds the most exclusive birthday party in Hollywood, and its voters like it that way.
What's interesting this year is the nature of the two-horse race. In 2010, it came down to a decision between a populist fave in "Avatar" that made a gazillion dollars at the box office and a critics' darling in "The Hurt Locker" that maybe six people saw in the theater. Both "Social Network" and "King's Speech," meanwhile, have almost identical box-office grosses and high-90s ratings at the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator. The difference between the two is that "King's Speech" is the kind of film that could have been an Oscar nominee a decade ago — or a half-century ago — whereas "Social Network," in everything from story line to subtext to soundtrack, is directly plugged into 2011.
That's not to suggest "King's Speech" is some musty relic of yesteryear, nor that contemporary relevancy is a requirement for Oscar glory. The key, rather, is that the best film should win. And if you ask us, the finest film of the year is "Social Network." But as in so many years past — from how "Gladiator" bested "Traffic" to the way "Shakespeare in Love" beat out, well, geez, take your pick! — the best film of the year doesn't always receive that Oscar honor.
We can talk about momentum, we can indentify vital precursor wins, we can cite all manner of historical facts and we can lament fuddy-duddy voters. None of it seems to matter. On Sunday night, it appears, a very good film but hardly the year's best will win Best Picture. Let's offer our early congratulations to "The King's Speech."
Which Oscar contender should take Best Picture? Share your pick in the comments!
Will it be a regal evening for "The King's Speech"? Can "The Social Network" dial up Oscar gold? Teen Mom Amber Portwood Caught in Nude Photo Scandal
According to Radar's photo source, Amber posed for the pics because she "fancies herself an old-fashioned pin-up girl." But shortly after the images were published, Amber insisted to MTV that she never intended for them to be seen.
"I'm devastated that these pictures were stolen from my phone and sold by someone I trusted," the young mother told MTV's Remote Control Blog. "It makes me sad that anyone would do this, and I'm horrified that something so private is being shared publicly. It's been a difficult year, and I just want to focus on what's important in my life -- my daughter."
Well, we're glad she has her priorities straight on paper (even if her cell phone pics tell a different story). Now she'll have to convince a judge. Portwood is facing felony charges for beating up Leah's father, Gary Shirley, while MTV's cameras were rolling for an episode of Teen Mom. She's also dealing with rumors that she's pregnant again -- and , while it's hard to see past that gigantic tattoo, it's definitely possible that the nude photos reveal a baby bump. Either way, we sure hope something inspires Amber to star acting more like a mom and less like a reality star.

On Thursday, news broke that Beyoncé would be starring in a Clint Eastwood-directed remake of the 1976 Barbra Streisand classic "A Star Is Born" (which was a remake of a 1954 movie that remade a 1937 film). In the meantime, Will Smith is reportedly petitioning Sony to remake "Annie" (the 1982 movie and 1977 musical) starring his 10-year-old daughter, Willow, best known for whipping her hair.
In October it was announced that Leonardo DiCaprio and best bud Tobey Maguire would be starring in Baz Luhrmann's 3-D retelling of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby," with Carey Mulligan joining as Daisy Buchanan.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have been working on bringing the '80s Johnny Depp-starring television series "21 Jump Street" to the big screen since 2008, and they might even get Depp to cameo in it in time for the film's March 16, 2012, release date.
And let's not forget the long hunt for a Ren McCormack (the character Kevin Bacon made famous in 1984), after Zac Efron and Chace Crawford dropped out of the planned "Footloose" remake that finally landed dancer Kenny Wormald the role of his life.
Then there's "Arthur," the Russell Brand-starring remake of the 1981 screwball comedy about a happily drunk millionaire who risks everything for love. The film has tapped everyone from Helen Mirren to Greta Gerwig and Nick Nolte.
Two recently announced remakes are "Lethal Weapon" and "The Wizard of Oz," which are still in early development and without stars attached. Warner Bros. announced their plans to reboot the Mel Gibson-starring franchise on Thursday and tapped writer Will Beall to pen the script with completely new characters. And director Robert Zemeckis announced back in November that he planned on remaking the 1939 Technicolor classic using the script from the original film, with Warner Bros. hoping Robert Downey Jr. will play Oz.
Just this past year, films from "Clash of the Titans" to "The Karate Kid" to "A Nightmare on Elm Street" were remade for the big screen and were well-received by audiences. "Alice in Wonderland" and "Clash of the Titans" went on to become two of the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2010, while "Piranha 3D" and "The A-Team" also went on to strong successes, proving that there definitely is a market for these kinds of remakes.

Katy Perry Stands By Her Man
And here's what Katy had to say on twitter about the incident:
If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fianc will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don'tf**kwiththeBrands.
If it's true that the paparazzo was trying to get a picture under Katy's skirt, then the paparazzo is the one who should've been arrested! Talk about crossing the line. And I've heard of paparazzi trying to do that, so it doesn't sound so improbable to me.
Hopefully this will be resolved without too much fuss.

Emma Roberts, Dave Franco Get Cozy In Cults' 'Go Outside' Supervideo
Dave Franco and Emma Roberts in the Cults' "Go Outside" supervideo
Photo: MTV
On Tuesday, a supervideo for Cults' "Go Outside" starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts debuted on MTV.com.
In the video, Franco plays a character obsessed with 1960s Jean-Luc Godard films. His obsession comes to life when French sex symbol Brigitte Bardot (played by Roberts) steps out of his favorite Godard flick, "Contempt," and into his living room. The two embark on a nightlong romantic escapade throughout Los Angeles, and providing the soundtrack is the dreamy "Go Outside" by New York duo Cults.
The supervideo is actually the second effort in a partnership between MTV and Mean magazine. The first video brought Anna Kendrick and director David Ayer together for LCD Soundsystem's "Pow Pow."
MTV News caught up with Franco and Roberts on the set, where they talked about what it meant to film the video.
"I love Brigitte Bardot," Roberts said. "I've always been drawn to her style, and I just think there's something so timeless about her that she's still such an icon today. And I just thought it'd be fun to get to kind of do a little mini-film to music, and I love the concept and I was excited Davie was a part of it and it's just been really fun."
Of course channeling the iconic bombshell meant going blond for Roberts, which she loved: "I feel like a Barbie doll. I think it's cool."
And a major part of the Bardot persona meant another thing. "We have to make out in the video -- a lot," Roberts added.
While the treatment meant that the two would be getting very intimate, luckily for Franco, he wasn't going in blind.
"We knew each other a little bit before the video," Franco said. "Which is great for this kind of project, where you can kind of jump into it and just have fun with it, rather than trying to get comfortable with each other and literally within 10 minutes of meeting each other, your tongues are in each other's mouths."
From the looks of the video, they got to know each other a lot better by the end.
What did you think of the supervideo? Let us know in the comments!

Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' Re-Release: Five Secrets Revealed
Justin Bieber in "Never Say Never"
Photo: Paramount
By now, most citizens of Bieber nation have undoubtedly canceled all weekend plans, purchased advance tickets for the super-size version of "Never Say Never," and are plotting the most stress-free path toward the multiplex to catch the revamped film's arrival in 3-D theaters on Friday (February 25).
But what exactly will you find up on the big screen when you slip on those purple 3-D glasses just three weeks after the original flick debuted? Team Bieber has promised over half an hour of new Justin-approved video, including fresh performances, footage from pre-release screenings and further glimpses at Justin's downtime with his pals.
That's a little vague for our liking, so we hit up director Jon M. Chu for some insight into what's being touted as a "Director's Fan Cut." While Chu lamented that he didn't get a chance to shoot Bieber's fresh haircut in 3-D for the revamped flick, he did reveal five secrets to keep an eye out for when the new "Never Say Never" arrives in theaters.
There Are 40 Minutes of New Footage, Not 30
In a YouTube video announcement, Chu told fans that the new version would include 30 minutes of new footage. But a subsequent Paramount press release pegged the number at 40 minutes. So which is it?
"That was my mistake!" laughed Chu. "I didn't time it out. I was like, 'I'll just say over 30 minutes, and we'll be good to go. But they timed it and it is 40 minutes. The point is, there's a crapload of stuff in there.
"We originally had a two-and-a-half-hour version of the movie, which we obviously couldn't release," he added. "So we started to think about putting stuff back in that didn't have to do with our story but that we knew people would love."
"Omaha Mall" Is Coming for You
This rock/rap tune became a fan favorite after Bieber posted it on YouTube, and the reworked "Never Say Never" will pull back the curtain on the song's creation for the first time on the big screen.
"We see the creation of 'Omaha Mall' and how that came to be," Chu told us. "We also get to see way more baby videos. We sit on a lot more shots, so it's like you're sitting with him in the living room, just watching."
Get Ready for Bieber's Abs
"Twilight" fans know what to expect when they hit the multiplex for the first viewing of a franchise film: Taylor Lautner without a shirt on. But Beliebers may have been surprised — and, no doubt, delighted — to sit down for "Never Say Never" and be treated to scene after scene of Justin sans T-shirt. When it comes to the new version, fans should expect even more skin.
"I can't confirm nor deny those reports, but we do what the fans want," Chu laughed. "If that's what the fans want, then they'll get a little bit more. Maybe some abs!"
You'll Truly See What It's Like to Be Bieber's BuddySuch is the effect of Bieber Fever that the singer's friends, Ryan Butler and Chaz Somer, have become stars in their own right. And while they pop up a bit in the movie, Chu said that fans couldn't get enough of these two Canadian teens.
"Chaz and Ryan have their own followings, and one of the biggest pieces of feedback we got is that fans want more Chaz and Ryan," the director said. "In this version, we get to see what it's like to be part of the entourage. We go to their homes in Stratford. People call from all around the world and disrupt their dinners. It's absolutely insane. They're superstars."
Hello, "Favorite Girl"!
While the re-cut flick introduces 40 minutes of new footage, the overall running time is only 10 minutes longer. So what did Chu cut? He took out Bieber's lengthy, pre-MSG visit to the doctor, added in new scenes of tickets being given away outside concerts and swapped out some performances that didn't make it into the original release.
"Before we had to make a choice between 'Favorite Girl' and 'Never Let You Go,' because they're the same [in-concert] set-up with the heart," he said. "We couldn't play both. So this time, we made the choice to have 'Favorite Girl,' which is one of my favorite songs that he plays. People are going to love it."
Check out everything we've got on "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never."

Michael Jackson Estate Rakes In $310 Million To Date
Michael Jackson
Photo: Time Life Pictures/DMI/Time Life Pictures/Getty Im
Between album sales, movie profits, licensing arrangements and lucrative deals for Cirque du Soleil shows, the estate of late King of Pop Michael Jackson has raked in more than $300 million since the singer's shocking death in June 2009.
According to TMZ, legal documents released on Thursday reveal that executors of MJ's estate have managed to make a major dent in the more than $400 million in debt that Jackson owed at the time of his death.
The first accounting from the executors shows that they have already spent around $159 million paying back various debts, income taxes and other expenses, which include providing support for the pop star's mother, Katherine Jackson, as well as his three young children.
"Although there remain unresolved creditor claims, pending litigation and additional challenging business, tax and legal issues, and the estate is not yet in a condition to be closed, the executors have made substantial progress in reducing the estate's debt," the documents state, according to a Reuters report. Two of Jackson's longtime confidants, attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain, were named as administrators in a will sign by the pop icon.
In addition to paying to make "substantial improvements" to the Jackson family's Havenhurst estate in Encino, California, the executors also spent an undetermined amount of money on "last illness and funeral and memorial service expenses." Those costs included a $900,000 payment to the Forest Lawn Memorial cemetery where Jackson is buried and $35,000 on expenses described as "costume for memorial."
TMZ reported that not only did the famously cash-strapped Jackson have more than $400 million in debt, but his estate also owed more than $40 million to concert promoter AEG tied to the scuttled This Is It Tour, for which MJ was rehearsing when he died unexpectedly. They've also paid $27.2 million in taxes and $4 million in mortgage payments on Jackson's properties.
Despite the solid sales of the Michael album and millions of units of the singer's back catalog being sold, as well as the box office of the "This Is It" movie and DVD sales, the estate is not nearly out of the woods. TMZ noted that the administrators have received more than 65 creditors' claims, some of which are subject to "extremely high" interest rates, and there are several outstanding lawsuits against the estate in several countries.

Britney Spears Teases Femme Fatale's 'I Wanna Go'
Britney Spears
Photo: Getty Images
As fans get closer to the March 29 release of Britney Spears' latest album, Femme Fatale, more teasers of tracks off the Dr. Luke/Max Martin executive-produced album are hitting the Web.
On Tuesday (February 22), Spears tweeted a link to a 29-second clip of "I Wanna Go," calling Martin "amazing." The song kicks off with a thumping beat, as the melody plays lightly over it. Brit's staccato vocals — "I wanna go-o-o all the way-ay-ay" — enter as the teaser fades out.
The song was co-produced and written by Shellback, who recently worked with Spears on "If U Seek Amy" and "3." He also hooked up with Usher for "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love," Robyn on "Time Machine" and Avril Lavigne for "What The Hell."
Thus far, all the tracks Spears has revealed in anticipation of the release of Femme Fatale have been club bangers. Last week, she released the dark, sleek video for her lead single, "Hold It Against Me," and days later, she teased her next single, "Inside Out."
"In my opinion, this is her strongest album ever," her manager, Larry Rudolph, told MTV News about the March 29 release. "It's somewhat of a departure from what she's done. It's more mature. It's more of a dance record."

Lady Gaga Talks Grammy 'Vessel,' Born This Way Details
Lady gaga arrives at the 2011 Grammys on Sunday
Photo: MTV News
Lady Gaga called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Tuesday morning (February 15) and opened up about the "Born This Way" "roller coaster" she finds herself on these days. She also talked about that now-famous egg-like "vessel" in which she arrived to the Grammys on Sunday.
"Only I would pull up to an awards show in a giant industrial-sized truck," she explained about the vehicle that brought her and her unusual container to the big event. "I was in [the vessel] for about 72 hours and it was a very creative experience and it was time for me to prepare and really think about the meaning of the song. I really wanted to be born onstage."
Gaga finally emerged from her egg thingy when she took the stage at the Grammys to perform her new single live for the first time. "It was such a magical moment. I can't even say enough about the joy that I felt singing 'Born This Way' on that stage," she gushed. "We were just so emotional and so excited and I put so much hard work into creating the performance, designing it. I really have spent a tremendous amount of time dancing and working on becoming a better dancer ... It's important to me, if I want to someday be remembered as a great, great artist, I think I have to do what all the greats did — I've got to sing and dance live at the same time."
As for her unusual Whitney Houston shout-out during the ceremony, Gaga explains that it was a thank-you a long time in the making. "I can't tell you how much I listened to her growing up," she explained. "She was my vocal idol for so many years. I thought of her voice when I wrote ['Born This Way'], because she's just such an incredible singer. I sort of planned to thank her a long time ago, at some point. I said, 'If I ever win a Grammy I'm gonna thank Whitney' ... so I did."
During the chat with Seacrest, Gaga also gave more details about her album, Born This Way, which comes out May 23. "The next single is called 'Judas,' " she confirmed (Vogue originally reported the news about this track, which was produced by RedOne). "And that will be out a couple weeks before the album."
As for the LP as a whole, the singer said, "It's eclectic. I wouldn't tell everyone to expect lots of the same kind of songs like 'Born This Way.' I explore lots of different genres in tandem with dance music and electronic music and industrial music. I have expanded even further in that area, and I'm so very proud of it."
Later on the conversation, Gaga reiterated, "The great news is 'Born This Way' is just the beginning of this album. It's certainly not even the biggest hit on the album. You have to hear the rest of the record. I don't want to boast about it, because I am humble about what I do, but it's a great album and I can't wait to share each and every song with my fans."

Arcade Fire And Spike Jonze Debut 'Scenes From The Suburbs' In Berlin
The Arcade Fire's Win Butler
Photo: Mark Metcalfe/ Getty Images
Arcade Fire has showed off snippets of their Spike Jonze-directed short film, "Scenes from the Suburbs," on oversize screens during their summer tour shows and in a five-minute music video in November. Finally, this week, the band got to display the full 30-minute film at the Berlin Film Festival, which frontman Win Butler hopes will become part of the group's "visual legacy," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"So that 30 years from now, when a computer virus crashed all the computers, and people have to look at DVDs to see what life was like in the early 2000s, there is some record of what we were thinking visually," he explained at the festival. "And we didn't want that to get completely lost just because of the times that we live in."
The short continues the band's exploration of their experiences growing up within the often staid confines of the suburbs, which, as their tour collaborator Terry Gilliam has told us, is a "place that if you're creative, you just need to get away from." The film, however, spins suburban life into an impressionistic portrait of a group of teens living in an alternate reality where different towns go to war against one another.
"You start from a feeling and it's not necessarily the plot points of a song," Butler said. "To me the film is very much about trying to talk about the relationships and the feelings of that age."
"We were trying to show the emotion and the emotional links without necessarily getting deep into the plot," he added, citing influences ranging from Gilliam's films to B movies. "It's inspired by watching the first half of films and not having to figure out how to resolve them."
The Berlin premiere capped off a pretty stellar week for Arcade Fire. On Sunday, the band pulled off a shocking Album of the Year upset at the Grammys, then quickly jetted to London for the Brit Awards, winning Best International Album and Best International Group. And yet, for all this musical success, Butler suggested that perhaps a visual medium is where the group's true artistic talents lie.
"I think we would have been a band of moviemakers if making movies wasn't 140 times more expensive than making records," he said.

Justin Bieber Gets Billboard Boost After 'Never Say Never' Opening
Justin Bieber
Photo: Gilbert Carrasquillo/ Getty Images
There will be a new title at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart next week, but the biggest news is the huge sales bump Justin Bieber experienced thanks to the opening of his "Never Say Never" movie. While the Now 37 compilation (with songs by Eminem, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Pink and Willow Smith) will snag the pole position thanks to sales of 151,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, Bieber's 3-D big-screen debut gave a serious boost to his record sales.
My World 2.0 is up 145 percent over the previous week, jumping 14 spots to #3 on sales of 48,000, while My Worlds Acoustic leaps 37 spots to #10 as sales zoomed up by 240 percent to 35,000. Even the 16-year-old singer's 2009 debut EP, My World, benefited, moving 61 spots to #39 as sales were up 162 percent to 14,000.
Next week's charts will likely reflect the post-Grammy bump that traditionally follows the awards show, but even after going home empty-handed following a performance with Bob Dylan on the broadcast, England's Mumford & Sons continue their unlikely chart ride.
They zoom nine spots to #2 with Sigh No More, which sold 49,000 copies as sales picked up by nearly 100 percent over the previous week.
The rest of the top 10: Nicki Minaj, Pink Friday (#4, 47,000), Pink, Greatest Hits ... So Far!!! (#5, 41,000), Bruno Mars, Doo-Wops & Hooligans (#6, 39,000), Eminem, Recovery (#7, 38,000), Rihanna, Loud (#8, 37,000) and Jason Aldean, My Kinda Party (#9, 35,000).
Maybe it was their Super Bowl halftime show, but after weeks of slipping down the charts, the Black Eyed Peas' The Beginning moves six places to #14 (31,000, up 61 percent) while their two-year-old The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) jumps 21 spots to #20 as sales picked up by 75 percent to 20,000.
It was all about Lady Gaga on the iTunes singles chart, as her queer anthem "Born This Way" went straight to #1. Gaga pushes Katy Perry's "Firework" down a spot, where it's followed by Pink's "F---in' Perfect," the Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)," Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" and Jay Sean's "Hit the Lights." Rounding out the list are Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" at #7, then Colbie Caillat's "I Do," Rihanna's "S&M" and Avril Lavigne's "What the Hell."
The Mumfords rule the iTunes albums chart, followed by Pink, Bieber's Never Say Never - The Remixes, his acoustic album, the Beatles' LOVE soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas show, Rihanna, Eminem, Grammy performers the Avett Brothers' I and Love and You, Bieber's My World 2.0 and the Pretty Reckless' Light Me Up.
Look for the Grammy bump next week, as well as the chart debut of Bieber's remix album and the new Bright Eyes effort, The People's Key.

Usher's 'OMG' ' 'Kills It Every Night,' Says Tourmate Miguel
Usher
Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images
MTV News just named Usher's "OMG" the #1 song of 2010, and clearly we're not alone in our admiration. But what is it like to watch it performed night after night? Miguel, who is currently opening for Usher's OMG Tour gave us a little insight.
"There's so much anticipation for this song when he comes out, and he really gives the fans what they want," Miguel laughs. "He kills it every night."
Before his latest string of hits, Usher was out of the spotlight for a period of time in 2009, when he was dealing with personal issues including a divorce. Miguel finds his 2010 comeback inspiring.
"There was a period of time, when a lot of people didn't believe in Usher and thought he was finished ... just kind of going to ride off into the sunset and disappear," the up-and-coming singer noted.
With the release of Raymond vs. Raymond and its extended, companion EP, Versus, in 2010, Usher proved the skeptics wrong with chart-toppers including "OMG" and "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love."
"He's such a tremendous example of perseverance and determination," Miguel beamed. "I was there throughout this album, so I've seen the adversity that he's had to overcome perception-wise."
MTV News' Top 25 Songs of 2010 have all been counted down. But the fun isn't over yet: We still want to see your picks in the comments below!
