TV Ad For Norwegian Deaf Metal

This image, which nicely compliments the video below, is for a 1993 metal comp that featured some pretty ripping bands, including Eucharist, Dissection, Impaler, At the Gates, Pitchshifter and Therion, along with a bunch of groups we've never heard of. Good luck tracking it down. But before you try, check out this Norwegian TV ad [...]

Angelina and Brad Celebrate Pax's 7th Birthday in Paris

Though he turns 7 on Monday, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got their son Pax's birthday celebration underway early with festivities any kid would dream of: a hot-air balloon ride and a party cruise on riverboat in Paris, People reports.
Along with son Maddox (who turned 9 in August) and daughters Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 4 (2-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox were not present), the family enjoyed a whirlwind day around Paris, including a tethered hot-air balloon at the riverside Parc André Citroen in the Left Bank. The balloon's operator told People that Pax and his brothers and sisters were "charming" and "excited, but well behaved."
The world's most famous family spent 20 minutes in the balloon and had, as the operator called it, "a little moment of peace." Still despite the fact that they are, arguably, the most well-known people on the planet, they certainly didn't act that way. "They were like any other family," the operator told People. "There was nothing out of the ordinary to tell you about them which made them any different from any other family."
But, their not-so-ordinary day didn't stop at just a balloon ride, as they then rented a luxurious riverboat for a birthday cruise. The family enjoyed a 90-minute ride on the Josephine boat (which was decorated in blue and yellow balloons and had cakes and sweets for Pax) on the Seine.
"Angelina is a very beautiful woman in person. She was friendly and spoke to me," a female crew member told People. "Brad is very, very nice and very outgoing. He played a lot with the kids."
No surprise there to hear about doting dad Brad! The actor also took daughters Zahara and Shiloh shopping over the weekend and just a few weeks ago took birthday boy Pax and his older brother Maddox to the New York City premiere of his new animated flick Megamind.
What do you think of Pax Jolie-Pitt's 7th birthday celebration? Chime in below!

Coldplay, Led Zeppelin Album Covers Featured On New British Stamps

Album art from Pink Floyd, Blur and David Bowie also included.By James Montgomery

Coldplay's new British stamps

Photo: Royal Mail

On Thursday (January 7), the U.K.'s Royal Mail unveiled a series of 10 new stamps, honoring the most iconic album covers of the past 40 years.
The albums featured in the new series are the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed, Led Zeppelin's IV, David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, The Clash's London Calling, New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies, Primal Scream's Screamadelica, Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, Blur's Parklife and — the most recent album on to make the cut — Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head.
Meant to honor "the most potent graphic images of modern times, many of which have provided a visual soundtrack to people's lives," the series is the end result of a lengthy research process by the Royal Mail, who looked through thousands of album covers by British artists before deciding on the final list. And, during a Wednesday night BBC Radio broadcast, it was revealed that the queen herself actually approved each design.
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page — who helped design the cover for IV — was on hand to celebrate the release of the stamps and recalled the mysterious nature of the album's iconic imagery.
"Almost 40 years after the album came out, nobody knows the old man who featured on the cover, nor the artist who painted him," he said. "That sort of sums up what we wanted to achieve with the album cover, which has remained both anonymous and enigmatic at the same time."
Of course, any great honor is befitting of an equally great contest, so, on the same day the stamps were made available to the general public, Coldplay decided to give one of their Rush of Blood stamps away. In a message on their official site, the band held a contest to send one lucky fan "a letter using a Coldplay stamp, postmarked with today's issue date."
"We visited our local post office earlier today and bought some of the Coldplay stamps," the message read. "Very nice they are too."

Kanye West, Justin Bieber Join Tradition Of Mega-Release Weeks

This isn't the first time labels have loaded the shelves with new releases all at once.By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker

Kanye West

Photo: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images

The sheer volume of mainstream albums dropping this week makes our head spin like that ancient artifact, the vinyl record. Monday saw the release of Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday, Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Ke$ha's Cannibal, Jay-Z's The Hits Collection Vol. 1, Lloyd Banks' Hunger for More 2 and My Chemical Romance's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. And Friday is the big day for Justin Bieber's My Worlds Acoustic.
Many may wonder why the bigwigs of the music industry would put out such a gargantuan selection all at once. But there's a precedent for this kind of strategy. In fact, music lovers have been through this very same overload dilemma a handful of times over the last decade. Here's a look back at some of them:
September 11, 2001 became a national tragedy, though it was supposed to be a huge day for the music business. Mariah Carey's "Glitter" soundtrack, Jay-Z's Blueprint, Bob Dylan's Love and Theft, Ben Folds' Rockin' the Suburbs, Nickelback's Silver Side Up and P.O.D.'s Satellite were among the many albums that were released at the beginning of the week.
November 18, 2003 marked the start to one of the year's biggest music release weeks. The range of albums seemed to hit every demographic imaginable. Releases included Britney Spears' In the Zone, Blink-182's self-titled fifth studio album, Timbaland & Magoo's Under Construction, Part II, Christmas albums from Whitey Houston and Ashanti, compilations from Michael Jackson, Moby and Joe Satriani, and live albums/DVDs from Dave Matthews Band and Linkin Park.
Following the pattern of Thanksgiving week album releases, November 22, 2004 began another big week. Two "American Idol" winners, Fantasia and Ruben Studdard went head-to-head with Free Yourself and I Need an Angel, respectively. The shelves were also packed with U2's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, Gwen Stefani's solo debut Love. Angel. Music. Baby., as well as other releases from Creed, Anthrax, Evanescence, Nirvana and Jessica Simpson.
September 12, 2006 was the drop date of Justin Timberlake's second solo album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, which produced five smash hit singles. That week John Mayer's Continuum and Bob Seger's Face the Promise were released, and both eventually went platinum. Other albums and compilations came from the Mars Volta, Papa Roach, Lionel Richie, Veruca Salt, Everclear, and the Barenaked Ladies.
On September 11, 2007 after threatening to retire from music if his album Curtis was outsold, 50 Cent came in second to Kanye West's Graduation. And though he wasn't included in the 50 Cent Challenge, Kenny Chesney's Just Who I Am: Pirates and Poets was released the same day and sold very well. The date also marked the release of Animal Collective's Strawberry Jam, which didn't exactly pose a threat.
One of the wildest weeks of 2009's album drop calendar was easily that of November 16. Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster, Justin Bieber's My World, Leona Lewis' Echo, OneRepublic's Waking Up, Kris Allen's self-titled debut, Norah Jones' The Fall, and compilations from both Janet Jackson and Fall Out Boy were some of the new additions to the music scene.
Which new albums are you buying this week? Talk about it in the comments!
Open the floodgates! It's Mega-Release Week, with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and Lloyd Banks all dropping new albums. Stick with MTV News for everything you need to know about the brand-new music.

Michael Jackson's 'Hold My Hand' Debuts Online

Song featuring Akon is first single off posthumous album Michael.By Gil Kaufman

"Hold My Hand," the official first single from the upcoming posthumous album from Michael Jackson album, was released on MJ's official website over the weekend. The lead track from Michael, due on December 14, is a universal plea for peace on which Akon and MJ weave their voices together over a wash of dramatic strings and a subdued beat.
Akon, who recently went back into the studio to put finishing touches on the song, spoke to MTV News back in 2007 about working with the King of Pop, who reportedly wrote a hand-written note in which he expressed a desire to have "Hold My Hand" released as a single.

"Just to be in the same room [with him], I felt like everything I wanted to achieve in life had already been achieved," Akon said. "That's how incredible that aura [is]."
Unlike "Breaking News," the beat-heavy anti-media screed that was streamed on the MJ site last week, the uplifting "Hold My Hand" is one of Jackson's classic love ballads, a heart-stirring call to unity with a touch of a Caribbean lilt.
"This life don't last forever," Jackson sings in the opening lines in his signature quavering falsetto. "So tell me what we're waiting for/ We're better off being together/ Than being miserable alone."
Then together, the men sing, " 'Cause I been there before and you've bee there before/ But together we can be all right/ 'Cause when it gets dark and when it gets cold we hold each other till we see the sunlight."
As the three-and-a-half-minute single comes to a close, the strings swell and a gospel choir comes in, clapping hands and giving the tune a majestic feel.
The 10-track album will also feature cameos from 50 Cent ("Monster") and Lenny Kravitz ("(I Can't Make It) Another Day".
Even though he worked with Jackson on tracks late in the singer's career on what was slated to be MJ's comeback album, one person who is not excited about the new MJ disc is the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.
"Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are," he told Entertainment Weekly. "To say that what [Michael] contributed during his life wasn't enough. He just wasn't any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it's disrespectful. There's no honoring."
Considering how meticulous and particular Jackson was about his music, Will said he thought it was callous of Jackson's label, Sony Music, to release what he suspects are unfinished works. "Michael Jackson songs are finished when Michael says they're finished," said Will, who earlier this year revealed that he worked on the songs "Dreaming" and "Still the King" with Jackson, as well a tribute to James Brown called "I Will Miss You."
"Maybe if I never worked with him I wouldn't have this perspective," the producer told "Access Hollywood," noting that those songs will never be released because MJ didn't give his final approval on them. "He was very particular about how he wanted his vocals, the reverb he used. ... He was that hands-on. ... He kept his vocals and I kept the music. We had that understanding."

Usher Most Admires Justin Bieber's 'Excitement And Innocence'

Bieber's mentor tells MTV News the teen sensation has 'so much more in store for the future.'By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Tim Kash

With so much accomplished in 2010, Justin Bieber has certainly set the bar high for 2011. But the teen singer is already gearing up for next year. Bieber will not only release his much-anticipated 3-D flick, "Never Say Never", but he has also teased that he'd like to release an album of all-new material sometime later next year.

His mentor, Usher, thinks that at this point, the sky's the limit.
"As far as music and entertainment, that's the beginning," Usher told MTV News at Sunday's AMAs, where Bieber performed and took home four awards.
"There's so much more in store for the future, or at least there's a ton of things we can do and will, and with the support of his fans who will continue to just grow and grow and grow."
At 16, Bieber has accomplished what few manage with many more years in the music business, but Usher said he wants to ensure that Bieber doesn't stop enjoying it all as his popularity continues to grow and his schedule gets busier.
Asked what he admires most about Justin, Usher said, "His excitement and innocence in it. And I don't mean that in a light way because I think that he's absolutely enjoying every moment of it, as any young man his age would, but in a different way because [of] the hard work that has gone in and led to the dream that has become a reality. And every time you have an opportunity do something incredible, I tell him to do his best and be conscious that what you're doing today should last forever and eternity."

'Glee' Britney Spears Episode Slammed By Parents Television Council

Group describes show as 'an endorsement of narcotics abuse, public masturbation, and school-sanctioned burlesque.'By James Dinh

Heather Morris in the "Britney/Brittany" episode of "Glee"

Photo: FOX

Last week's episode of "Glee" found Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) shouting, "It's a Britney Spears sex riot!" as she attempted to put a stop to the glee club's saucy rendition of "Toxic."
But she's not the only one who had an issue with the Spears takeover at William McKinley High School. The hit Fox show has come under fire as the Parents Television Council has deemed the "Britney/Brittany" episode the "Worst TV Show of the Week" due to the broadcast's "explicit sexual content."
A message posted on the organization's website decries the episode's "skimpy outfits" and "sultry grinds" during "I'm a Slave 4 U." And even though "Glee" castmembers show very little skin in the re-creation for the 2001 Madonna duet "Me Against the Music," the PTC said the interpretation included "plenty of girl-girl bumping and grinding."
According to the group, the tribute to the always-controversial Spears wasn't appropriate because the singer is far from a suitable role model.
"Glee earned its highest ratings ever with this Britney Spears tribute, drawing 13.3 million viewers," the message continued. "A scary thought considering that the mostly young teen/tween audience basically witnessed an endorsement of narcotics abuse, public masturbation, and school-sanctioned burlesque. But perhaps most troubling is the deification of a troubled pop star into a symbol of empowerment and self-esteem. Considering her stints in rehab, her very public breakdowns, and her questionable parenting skills, there is absolutely no way Spears should be considered a role model. The producers of the show can spare us the old song-and-dance about fallen celebs turning their lives around. What's next? Portraying Ike Turner as a reformed feminist?"
Spears knows controversy and criticism far too well. Since the beginning of her career, she's always raised eyebrows with everything from her sex-kitten public image to her sometimes-questionable parental judgment. While the pop star has played it relatively safe since her comeback, the singer did make headlines last year for her suggestive single "If U Seek Amy," the third offering from her album Circus.
Do you think the "Britney/Brittany" episode of "Glee" was inappropriate? Tell us in the comments below!

Lance Bass: Justin Timberlake's Too Busy for an *NSYNC Reunion

Beloved boy bands New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys have teamed up to form a nostalgic heartthrob super group called NKOTBSB. But after their debut performance at the American Music Awards earlier this week, fans of another pop group are getting a little jealous.
So, when can we expect an *NSYNC comeback?
Unfortunately, fans of the rival pop group shouldn't be holding their breath for a tour. *NSYNC's own Lance Bass told E! Online backstage at the AMAs, "I don't see that coming anytime soon." The biggest deterring factor: his former band mate, mega-star Justin Timberlake.
"Justin's very busy with his acting career right now, so I think it's going to be quite a while before we even think about doing anything," Bass said. This year alone, Timberlake has starred in two films, including the critically acclaimed The Social Network, which earned him early Oscar buzz.
Okay, so Timberlake may be a little too cool for a boy-band reunion. But that doesn't mean Bass and his fellow *NSYNC-ers (JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone) couldn't go it alone! "I love being on the stage," Bass told E! "So yeah, anytime the guys would want to do an album, I'm in!"
While fans eagerly wait to see if another *NSYNC tour or album ever happens (or a new Timberlake solo album, for that matter), Rolling Stone had their own ideas on how the group could still have their own comeback, despite the circumstances. BSB is going on with their tour, even with founding member Kevin Richardson opting out. But, could a non-Timberlake *NSYNC tour work?
RS theorizes that the guys could be successful on their own. In fact, they may even be able to change Timberlake's mind. "Maybe when he sees how easily his former group starts raking in money he'll be down for a handful of shows," the magazine said.
While the band would surely take a hit from the absence of their most swoon-worthy member, we're guessing there are still a few die-hard fans who would pay big bucks to hear "Bye Bye Bye" one more time.
Do you think *NSYNC should do a reunion tour? Chime in below!

Kanye West, Nicki Minaj And Ke$ha Lead Huge Album-Release Week

My Chemical Romance also moved their album to Monday to get a jump on the holidays.By Gil Kaufman

Kanye West

Photo: MJ Kim/ Getty Images

It happens every year around this time. No, not that food coma from too much turkey — the parade of megastar albums that drops the week of Thanksgiving.
While the past two weeks have already seen the release of a number of potential blockbusters, from Taylor Swift's instant-platinum Speak Now to new albums from Susan Boyle, Kid Rock, Rihanna, Josh Groban and Rascal Flatts, Monday's bumper crop could help pump some life into the holiday season.
After Kanye West decided to stake out the off-cycle Monday as the release date for his eagerly anticipated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, his competitors fell in line to take advantage of the holiday-week sales rush, with Nicki Minaj, My Chemical Romance and Ke$ha pushing their release dates up one day as well.
"I think Kanye will do great," said Carl Mello, director of purchasing for the 28-store Newbury Comics chain, one of the few remaining non-big-box music retailers in the nation. "He did himself a lot of favors putting up so many tracks during the year and engaging with the audience."
Between the string of G.O.O.D. Friday releases and his headline-grabbing "Runaway" mini-movie, Mello said Kanye set the album up by whetting his audience's appetite for months on end. As for Nicki's Pink Friday, even though she spent the year building up cred with a series of features and her own hit "Your Love," Mello predicted she'd do "fine" but wasn't expecting her to put up Kanye numbers. "It's nice to have a female rapper who is credible and has a chance at being quite popular," he said.
The bigger challenge might come for My Chem, whose Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys has gotten good buzz thanks to the speedy single "Na Na Na," but they have been out of stores since 2006's The Black Parade, which divided some fans.
"There's almost nothing harder to sell than something that reacted well with 13- to 14-year-olds a few years ago, but who don't necessarily make the journey with the band over the years," he said, noting the dive in popularity of similar bands such as Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte.
And though first-week sales of Rihanna's Loud are not expected to be blockbuster, Mello also said he expects that album and Kid Rock's Born Free to be solid sellers through the end of the year, along with Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, as well as Swift and previously released discs by Eminem and Lil Wayne.
Billboard magazine Senior Chart Manager and analyst Keith Caulfield agrees that West will probably have the biggest sales week, but said Ne-Yo could also have a solid bow with Libra Scale after months of working singles to radio. While he thinks Nicki could have a good week, Caulfield was cautious about Ke$ha's Cannibal.
"She could also do well, but because she's so track-oriented, it's hard to say," he said. "The best comparison for Nicki would seem to be Missy Elliott at her height with Under Construction, which sold 259,000 in its first week, and that's when people bought a lot of records. It's hard to gauge how an artist who, up until this point, has been very track-oriented but has an established record for a long time before releasing a proper album will do."
He pointed to fellow Young Money rapper Drake, who built his career up for nearly a year with a popular mixtape and features before releasing a full-length debut. "She's very different. She's colorful and versatile, but it's hard to pinpoint how that will translate into sales," he said, noting that "Your Love" has sold a very respectable 700,000 downloads to date.
Also in the mix are greatest-hits releases from Jay-Z and Pink; Lloyd Banks' H.F.M.2; the reissue of Nine Inch Nails' debut, Pretty Hate Machine; a Jimi Hendrix box set that Mello said is doing very well at his stores; Bruce Springsteen's The Promise archival set; the "Burlesque" soundtrack; and next Friday, a Target exclusive acoustic set from Justin Bieber.
And the hits will keep coming through the holidays, with a Christmas-themed "Glee" soundtrack on November 30 — which will also bring the latest from the Black Eyed Peas, The Beginning — followed the next week by T.I.'s No Mercy. December 14 brings the last potential blockbuster of 2010, the first posthumous album of Michael Jackson material, Michael, as well as the major-label debut of "American Idol" season-nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox, Farmer's Daughter; R. Kelly's Love Letter; and Ciara's Basic Instinct. (All release dates subject to change.)
Which new release are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments!

My Chemical Romance Call Danger Days 'A Missile Directed At Rock And Roll'

'The best way to love rock and roll is to shoot it in the head,' band says.By James Montgomery

My Chemical Romance

Photo: MTV News

In the four years between The Black Parade and Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, My Chemical Romance were no strangers to the grandiose statement. It seems that, in every interview they gave, the band found a new way to describe their (then upcoming) album, calling it everything from a "very pure" bit of punk rock to — most famously — "a love letter to rock and roll".

The end result, of course, was Danger Days, an album that is both of those things (and neither), often at the same time. And yet, it has basically been defined within those parameters. So, looking back on it now, do MCR regret anything they said in the lead-up to the album?
Not really.
"It makes me laugh when I [read it now]," frontman Gerard Way said, smiling.
"Part of the problem was: We tried to define the record before we made the record. And it's not all our fault," guitarist Frank Iero added, "because everyone kept asking us, 'Oh, what's it going to be?' And when we said, 'Oh, we don't know,' they're like, 'Well, whadaya mean? What's it going to be? Can you speculate?' And it's like, 'Well, it's going to be this,' and when we found out what that is, it changed."
And that change was, of course, necessary. Both for the band's survival and the scope of the new album. In retrospect, MCR stand by everything they said about Danger Days, because, really, deep down in its chrome-plated heart, it still is "a love letter" to American rock and roll.
It's just written from My Chemical Romance's rather-unique perspective.
"At first, we said, 'It's a love letter to rock and roll,' and we found out that the best way to love rock and roll is to shoot it in the head," Iero said. "So we made a record that was like a missile directed at rock and roll.
"It just started to change and evolve, and then the band evolved at the same time. And I think that's the way you have to make a record: in a very organic way."

Based on Jamie Reidy's memoir "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman."

What They're Saying:
"Finally, after years of suffering through Hollywood's predictable pap, sentimental mush, boring bromances and mean girl clichés, comes a love story that is actually worth falling for..." - Los Angeles Times
"Some of the heart we hope for in a good romance, those lump-in-the-throat moments, may be missing. But Gyllenhaal and Hathaway have great chemistry." - Orlando Sentinel

Burlesque
Short Story:

Ali soon discovers that her talents stretch much further than the bar, and with a push from her new friends, she takes to the stage. Surprisingly, the burlesque novice opens to rave reviews -- and cutthroat criticism.
What They're Saying:
"It's entertaining enough, like watching a celebrity workout film with a plot. But never once is it believable. Really, the movie should last 30 seconds." - Boston Globe
"It's more hallucination than story, but hey, If you think of it as a slightly deranged long music video divathon it can be a lot of fun." - Chicago Sun-Times

Kids will be entranced by the singing and choreography, even if the plot sails right over their heads.

The two soon strike up an unlikely alliance that embarks them on an adventure-filled journey.
What They're Saying:
"Tangled braids strands of traditional storytelling and a contemporary sensibility with stylish if predictable results." - USA Today
"A Rapunzel retelling could have become just a retread of the studio's past princess tales, but this genuinely charming, chintz-free story does something new: It takes the time to chill out, as its heroine might say." - New York Daily News
Good For Kids?
Who could resist this comical take on a classic children's book?

Faster
Short Story:
Ewan McGregor narrates this documentary about the MotoGP Championship and the fast-paced world of Motocross.

"Problem is, after an hour and a half of Faster, I still don't get motor sports." - Denver Post
Good For Kids?
This documentary may lose your child's interest Faster than you can blink.

Short Story:
Harry, Ron, and Hermione team up once again in this seventh installment of the Harry Potter series. Determined to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort, Harry must win the race against time and destroy the Horcruxes -- that is, if he can find them.
What They're Saying:
"Lumbering and gripping by turns, and suffused with a profound sense of solitude and loss." - Variety
"The story-within-the-story regarding the deathly hallows is visualized by way of shadow-puppet style animation, and the effect is quite beautiful." - Chicago Tribune
Good For Kids?
Magic and Hogwarts make for the perfect kiddy concoction.
Watch the Preview!
The Next Three Days
Short Story:
Russell Crowe stars in this drama, which follows a husband and wife as their life is flipped upside-down when the wife is accused of murder.
What They're Saying:
"The Next Three Days refuses to puff up its action with message-movie sermonizing." - Slant Magazine
"What was briskly diverting in the original has been rather laboriously overworked, and the film's attempt to draw out the moral stakes never addresses the material's basic, surface-level implausibility." - Variety
Good For Kids?
Although full of suspense, The Next Three Days does not contain the sort of adventure that keeps a child occupied.

Britney Spears Producer Dr. Luke Calls Singer 'An Amazing Vehicle'

Album's co-executive producer expects new album out by early 2011.By James Dinh

While "Glee" was spot-on in its tribute to Britney Spears in September, it's safe to say her fans are ready for the real deal. The pop princess, who has remained relatively low-key since wrapping up her Circus Tour, is currently working on her new album with a few familiar faces, including producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin.
"She's such an icon, I don't want to let anyone down," Dr. Luke said last week at the Hollywood Reporter/ Billboard Film & TV Music Conference. "But most importantly, I want to make good music."
Luke said that he is anticipating that Britney's album will see an early 2011 release, and a source told THR it would hit stores before March 31.
In addition to Dr. Luke ("Circus") and Martin ("... Baby One More Time"), Darkchild and newcomer Billboard are also said to be working with Spears.
When asked if there were anything else he could reveal about the heavily guarded project, Luke wouldn't say much. "Just that I'm excited to be co-executive producing with Max Martin, the person who kind of invented Britney, and to make good music," he said. "And she's such an amazing vehicle to getting that music out to a lot of people in every country."
With Luke and Martin helming the project, fans may expect to hear Spears sounding like the producers' frequent collaborators Katy Perry and Ke$ha. But there have also been indications that Brit will take a fresher approach. Last month, Spears' manager Adam Leber spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her next album, promising that it will introduce a "progressive" sound from the pop star.
''It'll be a departure from what you've heard,'' he added.
What producers would you like to see Britney team up with? Sound off below!

Ke$ha's Cannibal Hits The Web

'Listen to it,' singer insists in a post on her website.By James Montgomery

Ke$ha

Photo: Venturelli/ Getty Images

Ke$ha's don't-call-it-an-EP, do-call-it-a-companion-piece Cannibal doesn't hit stores until Tuesday, but since roughly three-quarters of the songs are online already, she's decided to just post the whole thing right now.
Yes, fans can now hear all of Cannibal right now on Ke$ha's website, and all they have to do is enter their Twitter handle, Facebook account or MySpace ID to do so.
"This is my album premiere, and it's top secret, and it's really fun and it's wild," Ke$ha said in a message posted on her site (in which she is rather inexplicably dressed like Maverick from "Top Gun"). "Things are going to get crazy and a little awkward, it'll be okay. Listen to it."
Yeah, seriously, listen to it. Because while most of Cannibal has already leaked — including, of course, first single "We R Who We R," the banging, clanging "Sleazy," the title track and the bumping club track "Blow" — there are still plenty of moments to discover. Look for "The Harold Song," which sees Ke$ha ditch her snarling shtick to lament over a lost love; "Crazy Beautiful Life," where she looks back on how far she's come — from her days as a "sh--ty waitress" to an internationally famous pop star — over a beat lifted from an old NES; "Grow A Pear," a kiss-off to "a dude with a vag"; and "C U Next Tuesday," an angry swipe at a scumbag guy who won't ditch his ex.
Loaded with glitchy beats and coated in a slick lacquer of Auto-Tune, Cannibal follows in the footsteps of Ke$ha's breakthrough Animal but also finds her stretching her legs, both as a songwriter and a singer. It's a companion piece to that album and a capper on the past (very hectic) year of her life. Like Ke$ha said, things get a little bit crazy, and a little awkward, but you should most definitely listen. And then get ready for whatever she does next.

Britney Spears 'Glee' Episode Draws Record-Setting Ratings

Tribute episode brings in 13.3 million viewers.By James Dinh

Britney Spears and Heather Morris on the set of "Glee"

Madonna's "Glee" tribute episode might have been titled "The Power of Madonna," but it was the show's tribute to Britney Spears that reigned supreme. The broadcast, which featured cameos from the pop princess herself, drew 13.3 million viewers, leading the 8 p.m. hour and posting its best-ever rating among adults 18-49.

Tuesday night's episode, appropriately titled "Britney/Brittany," had a 5.8 rating and rose 4 percent from last week's season-two premiere. The feat made history for "Glee," as it becomes the first series since NBC's "Seinfeld" in 1993 to debut as the top series of the week and then spike in ratings the following week, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The episode, which highlighted Heather Morris' character Brittany S. Pearce, revolved around the McKinley High students' fight to perform Britney Spears numbers. Through anesthesia-induced sequences, the Gleeks tapped into their inner pop star to perform renditions of the singer's hits, including " ... Baby One More Time" and "Me Against the Music."
In addition to Spears' appearances on the hit Fox show, the singer took to Twitter during the West Coast premiere to thank fans for campaigning in support of the episode. "I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!" she tweeted. The pop princess also gave props to the many song and video re-creations, including "I'm a Slave 4 U," saying, "Slave: Oh ... My ... God ...! Those little boys are SO cute! I know how hard it is to dance with that snake! Nice job."
Spears' manager, Adam Leber, also showed his appreciation for the episode, which spawned multiple trending topics on Twitter. "So glad you guys loved the GLEE episode! The Overwhelming worldwide response has been insane.3 of the top 10 worldwide trending topics.Sick! Big big big thank you to Ryan Murphy, the incredible cast and Brit's fans for making it happen...."
After such success, it wouldn't be surprising if the rumors of a second Spears-devoted episode came true, since "Britney/Brittany" only included hits from the first few years of the singer's career.

Mila Kunis "Looked Disgusting" After Losing 20 Pounds

Mila Kunis had to drop a whole lot of weight for her newest role -- and after dieting down to 95 pounds, she had seriously mixed feelings about her body.
To play a professional ballerina in Black Swan, Kunis had to mimic a real dancer's tiny physique. The already-skinny actress spent five months losing 20 pounds for the role. When she looked in the mirror, she said, she didn't recognize herself.

"I had no shape, no boobs, no a**. All you saw was bone," Kunis, 27, tells E!. "I was like, this looks gross."

While Kunis swears she looked "like Gollum from Lord of the Rings" in person, she was shocked to realize that her skinny figure looked fantastic on film.

"In real life, it looked disgusting. But in photographs and on film, it looked amazing," she admits. Seeing how normal her unhealthy figure looked onscreen, Kunis says she had a new understanding of "why this industry is so f***ed up."

At least Kunis had a legitimate reason for losing so much weight: Ballerinas are required to be a very specific body type, one that's unnatural for most women. (As a result, eating disorders are common in the world of professional ballet.) Her costar Natalie Portman also dropped a lot of weight; director Darren Aronofsky literally asked her to lose as much as she could without getting sick. That's a pretty serious request, and both actresses say that they made sure to stay as healthy as possible on their very restricted diets.Still, Kunis said, the people close to her got worried about her extreme new body.
"My mom freaked out," Kunis says. "Everybody started panicking. She was like, 'You have to promise this isn't going to affect you.'"

Just as she promised her mother, Mila went back up to her normal weight after the shoot was over. So how long did it take her gain back the pounds she spent five months losing? She tells E! that it all came back in five days.
So next time you find yourself comparing your body to some movie star, just remember what kind of crazy diet roller-coaster they have to go through!

Chloe Moretz Is Thankful For 'Kick-Ass,' Hit-Girl Groupies And Brad Pitt

And we're thankful for her, one of our favorite actors of 2010.By Josh Horowitz

Chloe Moretz

Photo: Mike Coppola/ FilmMagic

At the beginning of this year, MTV News tagged Chloe Moretz, a little-known young actor whose largest role at that point was in "(500) Days of Summer," as one of the actors in our "10 to Watch in 2010" series.
She didn't disappoint. The 13-year-old blew audiences away as the sword-wielding, bullet-taking badass Hit-Girl in "Kick-Ass." She followed up that comic book adaptation with an intense and mature performance in "Let Me In," in which she played a troubled vampire yearning for a human connection.

It's no surprise, then, that we've now named Moretz as one of the folks we're most thankful for in 2010. MTV News recently sat down for a chat with the teen star, who talked about meeting overly enthusiastic fans, how her family has helped her career and one unforgettable encounter with Brad Pitt.
MTV: You were one of our stars to watch in 2010, and now Thanksgiving time is rolling around very soon. Every year we select the actors we're most thankful for, and you're one of the actors we're most thankful for in 2010.
Chloe Moretz: Really? Wowers! Yayers! Yay-zies?
MTV: Does it feel like it's been a big year for you?
Moretz: It's been huge. "Kick-Ass" and then ["Let Me In"] — it's been absolutely insane.
MTV: What's been the highlight?
Moretz: "Kick-Ass," how big it got. The sheer thought of how much work I put into it and it finally getting so huge. That was insane. I was flabbergasted.
MTV: Were there any moments at red carpets or premieres where you thought, "Wow, this is crazy"?
Moretz: A guy at the London premiere, he had a Hit-Girl costume on — a pink wig and everything. That struck home. That leaves a memory. He was chic.
MTV: Have you run into some fans of yours, or fellow actors, who have come to you and said how impressed they are by your work?
Moretz: Brad Pitt at the afterparty, he was like, "I really like the role of Hit-Girl." And I was like, "What'd Angie think?" No, it was amazing. It was really cool to see someone who is so big and is such a phenomenal actor to recognize my work.
MTV: Who or what are you most thankful for in 2010?
Moretz: My family, of course. Without my family, where would I be? That my mom said yes when I was 6 begging her to let me semi-start the business. Where would I be without my brother Trevor? He's my acting coach.
Thanksgiving is a time for taking stock, expressing gratitude and, most importantly, overeating. We at MTV News have been gorging all year at movie theaters, so it's about time we looked back and gave thanks to our favorite actors and filmmakers of 2010. Enjoy exclusive interviews with our winners all week long.
Check out everything we've got on "Kick-Ass" and "Let Me In."

'Glee' Recap: Furt

This episode was so plot-tastic, I barely know where to begin, but I'll do my best to keep this brief:
Burt Hummel finally proposes to Denim Carole, and Kurt -- in the throes of an absolute gay ecstasy, natch -- immediately begins planning an elaborate wedding set to feature the entire Glee Club as bridesmaids and groomsmen, because Burt and Carole apparently have exactly zero friends and family of their own to step in and fulfill those roles. Unfortunately, Karofsky chooses this especially happy moment to get especially psycho-killer creepy, and when Mr. Schue witnesses a particularly ick-making moment of intimidation in the hallway, he marches Kurt directly into Principal Sue's office to demand that Karofsky be expelled.

The 2010 American Music Awards dished out hardware to many of pop, R&B and country music's biggest names. Like most high-profile awards shows, there were showstopping performances, off-the-runway fashion and emotional moments. Unlike most trophy fests, the AMA winners aren't determined by the inner circle of music-industry professionals, but rather the fans who plunk down cash for hit records.

This year, fans handed over pyramids to the artists who also cranked out many of the biggest hits. Justin Bieber made off with the most AMA booty, nabbing four trophies. Taylor Swift, Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Bieber's mentor Usher also snagged AMA loot.

Ke$ha 'Blows Some Stuff Up' For 'We R Who We R' Video

Good-time girl says video for her first Cannibal single is 'a little bit sexy time.'By James Montgomery

By now, you've no doubt downloaded the song and gazed longingly at photos from the set of the video. But despite all of that, you probably still have no idea what to expect from Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" clip.
And neither did we ... so when MTV News caught up with Ke$ha backstage at the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid, we decided to ask her for a quick synopsis of the video, the first she's releasing off her upcoming Cannibal repack. And from the sound of things, the clip is probably going to get a rise out of certain folks.

"This video is a little bit 'sexy time,' I'm not gonna lie, it may induce a boner or two," Ke$ha laughed. "I'm not sure, [you'll have to] report back. But I'm hoping for at least one."
We'll definitely let you know. Anyway, aside from all that sexiness, there's another aspect to the "We R" video that Ke$ha is equally excited about: the sheer amount of explosions she managed to pack into the thing.
"[For] this video, I kinda thought, 'I should be blowing things up,' " she smiled. "So we closed down downtown Los Angeles and, I mean, I'm not going to give away all of it, but I do blow some stuff up."
Sweet. And if small outfits and large-caliber explosives aren't enough to compel you to watch, well, Ke$ha still has one more trick up her sleeve for the "We R" video: There's gonna be plenty of beer on hand, too.
"Look, it's got bombs, boners, babes, boobs and beer ... always beer," she said. "What more do you want?"
Are you looking forward to Ke$ha's new video? Let us know in the comments!

Ke$ha Proclaims 'We R Who We R' At AMAs

Whirring sirens and post-apocalyptic stage design certainly set the tone for Ke$ha's energetic American Music Awards performance on Sunday (November 21). Surrounded by keyboards, Ke$ha kicked it all off in a glowing robot helmet and began her Animal track, "Take It Off."

Soon she was surrounded by dancers, some of whom broke through mirrors to join the singer on the stage as she transitioned into her Cannibal track "We R Who We R." For the performance, Ke$ha let her hair down and graced the stage in a mirrored bodysuit and leather jacket. She danced and gyrated her way through the track off her latest release, out this week.
When she wasn't dancing, she played a white guitar as confetti fell from the ceiling toward the song's synth filled and Auto-Tuned finale. As the song wrapped, she turned the guitar around and revealed that it said "hate" with a slash through it. She destroyed the guitar as sparks flew from behind her.
"This year has been carnivorous and life-changing. I have my rowdy, gorgeous fans to thank for taking me on the ride of a lifetime," she said in a statement. "My only goal with this record is to keep them dancing," she said of the new album. "The songs on Cannibal were made to inspire people to ignore any hate or judgment and be themselves unapologetically. It's the perfect companion to Animal and I hope you guys like it. And if you don't like it -- bite me."
What did you think of Ke$ha's AMA Performance?
